The Yakhmar cave is located at the top center of the map of Egilopian Mountains. Just above the Hunters Lodge resurrection point (to where you can buy permanent teleport from veteran rewards).
There are no mobs inside the cave on the path to Yakhmar.
A few words of basic advice to let you know what is going on in this icy cave…
The fight is rather straight forward and, as with most bosses, adds will spawn. The raid leader can split the raid in 2 teams or go full in for fast kill with everyone.
If the Speed Kill Version is used it is only to do all damage you can and some tanks gets the adds as they spawn and kites them away while the rest burn him down.
If split team tactic is used a group is on Yakhmar and everyone else further away to focus adds when they spawn. You can combat control adds (stun, root etc,,,)
• No fire damage on Yakhmar!! If fire is used on Yakhmar it will enrage the creature resulting in stunning the whole raid team.
I’ve often seen Yakhmar raids fail because the adds team tanks can’t keep aggro or people run away and can’t be healed properly (the adds team is normally where new players are assigned also). It’s not a big deal as we all have been new and must learn, so please be patient if the raid must restart a few times.
+ don’t run far if you have a dps toon and take aggro, run around close to the adds group as you receive healing and allow tanks to get back aggro.
